F3, Cycle 41: Out For The Count

Hey Folks! Wasn’t that a remarkable prompt last week by new moderator, Thomas Pluck, the Pluck You guy! I thought it was and 22 other contributors as well. I do believe that is a weekly record. Thanks Tom for joining the fun.

I was going to save this for the last Friday this month, but being this is a 5 Friday month and I’m not prepared, let’s have a guest prompt!

There’s no big write up this week, inspiring intro or an intriguing photo (though if you want the photo to direct you, that’s fine.) This week our guest is Paul D. Brazill, a fantastic crime writer, noirist and creator the new DRUNK ON THE MOON series from Trestle Press, and he provides us with one sentences. A starter sentence. Been a while since we’ve had one and I think this one is a beaut.

We’ll push the word count for more room and leave the genre open for variety.

Prompt: STARTER SENTENCE: “I slowly peeled back my eyelids and immediately wished I was still out for the count”
Genre: Open
Word Count: 1500 words
Deadline: Thursday, July 28, 2011, 8:30 pm EST

Spinetingler Award nominee Paul D. Brazill lives in Poland. His stuff has appeared in loads of classy print and electronic magazines and anthologies and his first short story collection, ’13 Shots Of Noir’, will be published sometime in 2011. His blog,  You Would Say That, Wouldn’t you?, is here: http://pdbrazill.blogspot.com/
