Yesterday was Thanksgiving here in the States. I’m not going to spend time looking up what other countries may celebrate similar holidays. I know Canada does have a Thanksgiving, sometime before before the US. At any rate, being thankful doesn’t require a holiday, or a turkey, or the presence of family at a big dinner table, it only requires the acknowledgment that even on our bleakest days we are privileged.
The next holiday is Christmas, something more universal and we may see another holiday themed prompt. Not this week. No other than being thankful, Thanksgiving reminds me that the year is almost over. Another ripped off the calendar. Time keeps on slipping into the future. No reverse on this ride.
So the last prompt of November and the first stories of December will be related to time. Even if it’s just cursory to the newest First Sentence prompt.
Before you dive in, I do want to thank Chad, Darren and Ms. Alden for taking on the challenge of being weekly moderators, and to thank each of you for participating in these (now) weekly prompts.
Times a wasting, so get those keyboards clicking. Enjoy.
